This weekend we were able to find this beautiful late 19th century sign. It just had all the right marks and looks to it! Someone, thankfully held on to this beauty for the ages and kept it in good and original condition. Fairbanks was started in 1830 and by 1874, became the standard for the US Post Office. We are only stewards of these fine pieces for a time, a Mayfly existence in the grand scheme of things. For now it sits on the floor in our den, waiting for a special place to hang it.
